Ponds for afforestation
For afforestation in the Lake Argyle area, landscaping work will be needed in hilly areas. Rainwater does not linger in these areas and quickly drains away, eroding the soil and carrying away young plants. Such areas dry out quickly, the groundwater is too deep here. In order to raise the water table and plant broadleaf trees, small pond systems will need to be built.
